Pontecorvo Centre Regulation
- Article 1 - The PDC
The Pontecorvo Department Centre, hereinafter referred to as PDC, is established within the Department of Physics "E. Fermi", pursuant to Article 39, section 4, of the Pisa University Statute.
- Article 2 - Purposes
Purpose of the PDC is the acquisition, conservation and study of the documentation related to the scientists, in particular of the twentieth century, and to their research in Physics also in connection with other Sciences. The PDC will promote research projects, conferences and Publich Outreach initiatives. The PDC will coordinate its activity through conventions approved by the Department of Physics with those national and international Institutes or Agencies pursuing similar purposes in more a general Science framework.
- Article 3 - Seat
The PDC is headquartered at the Department of Physics and uses instrumental and logistic resources assigned by the Department Board.
- Article 4 - Members
Professors, researchers and technical or administrative staff of the Department of Physics and of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics of Pisa can request to become member of the PDC. Further affiliations of staff belonging to the University must be approved by the Department Board.
- Article 5 - Management and coordination of activities
The ordinary management of the PDC is entrusted to a coordinator appointed by the Department Board among the members of the Board. The members of the PDC participate in the identification of the PDC's goals and initiatives, meeting at least half-yearly. The assembly is convened and chaired by the coordinator, who proposes the agenda.
- Article 6 - Finacial resources and equipment
Fundings to finance the PDC program come from:
- contributions paid by the Department of Physics on the basis of annual resolutions of the Department Board
- any contributions from the individual professor' funds
- funding from projects and other activities outside the Department of Physics
Equipments are assigned by the Department of Physics or purchased on PDC funds.
Fund management is entrusted to the coordinator who manages a specific chapter in the budget of the Department of Physics and regularly reports to the PDC and to the Department Board.
- Article 7 - Collaborations
The PDC may establish unprofitable collaborations, including on a stable basis, with concerned individuals, entities and associations, and may provide benefits to third parties whose revenue may be allocated to the PDC or the Department of Physics.
- Article 8 - Approval and amendments to the Regulation
This Regulation is approved by an absolute majority of the the Department Board. Any changes must be approved with the same procedure.
